STEP 1: CHOOSING WHERE TO STUDY

a. It’s important for applicant to think carefully about where they really want to study taking into consideration the location, the tuition fee, cost of living and other elements such as the type of environment they will like to live in, transport link, availability of accommodation, language barrier etc. Also speaking to family and friends who have studied overseas is a good place to start and a way of narrowing down choices

b. Its best to focus on institution rather than country. However, your proposed study destination immigration policy plays a part in advising students particularly if you are planning to work there during or after your degree

STEP 2: GETTING STARTED WITH APPLICATION

a. Login to the university website to access the international application page(All foreigners apply through the international application page because the deadline and requirements are different from home students)

b. Check entry requirements and deadlines before applying to make sure applicants have the best possible chance of gaining a place on their chosen course (If unsure whether qualification is acceptable, contact the international admission office of the chosen institution to check before submitting a full application)

c. Once the above have been confirmed, click on the apply link on the application page to either download an application form or create an application portal (depends on school and country)

FOR ONLINE APPLICATION

On international admission page.

a. Click on the apply link (Which takes you to the application form to be completed online or downloaded)

b. Complete the necessary information on the online form and submit. You will be redirected to a payment page where you can pay your application fee via fly wire or western Union.

NOTE: Application fees are non-refundable

c. A confirmation of successful submission will be displayed on the page. Also, an email containing application ID, further updates and requirements on your application will be sent to you.

FOR PAPER APPLICATION

a. Download the application form and complete necessary information in block letter using black pen

b. Forward the completed form with required documents via email to admission (email usually on the form or on the international application page)

c. An email containing application ID and further updates on requirement will be sent to you

STEP 3: WRITING THE PERSONAL STATEMENT

Almost all applicants who apply to top universities will have high predicted grades that will meet the university’s academic requirement. Hence, the personal statement is the main chance to

convey the following:

a. Faculty members are impressed when student can demonstrate a real understanding and commitment to their chosen subject area and show they have considered it relevance to their future career choice

b. They will look for motivated applicants who can articulate their aims and have the potential to succeed on the course

c. The faculty will want to know what ways you connect with your chosen course. Also, your statement should present you as someone who will contribute to the campus community

STEP 4: ACCEPTING THE OFFER OF ADMISSION

After submission of necessary documents and meeting the program requirements, students may be issued a full offer of admission or a conditioner offer.

a. CONDITIONAL OFFER

Issued to applicant who has fulfill the admission requirement to a certain level. The conditions may vary from IELTS, Admission interview, or deposit of tuition fee.

b. FULL OFFER OF ADMISSION

This offer is issued to applicant who has fulfilled all application condition. Applicant must accept the offer of admission by either signing the offer letter and sending a via email

NOTE: Applicant cannot process visa with a conditional offer.

STEP 5: PAYMENT OF FEES

a. After acceptance of offer, applicant can proceed to fee payment

b. Pay tuition fee online or visit the nearest bank with a copy of your admission letter and International passport to make tuition payment.

NOTE: it may take 3-4 days for the fee to be received by the institution, However, telex copy will be issued by the bank and this can be sent to the school as evidence of payment.

c. Once the tuition fund has been received at the institution the school issue receipt, Confirmation of Enrollment or letter of acceptance. Applicant can now proceed with visa application .
